OnlyFans founder Tim Stokely steps down as CEO

OnlyFans founder Tim Stokely is set to step down as chief executive of the online subscription platform.

The company said the founder will be replaced by Amrapali “Ami” Gan, formerly head of communications, and currently head of marketing.

Gan joined the firm, which is known mainly for hosting adult content, in 2020. She has previously held roles at Red Bull, Quest Nutrition, and a Los Angeles-based cannabis firm.

OnlyFans’ business boomed over the pandemic, and it posted profits of £281 million in its most recent financial year.

Stokely, who founded the firm in 2016, did not confirm what he planned to do after leaving his position.

The platform received widespread backlash from users in October when it announced that there would be a ban on explicit images.
