Volkswagen could develop flying cars in China

Automaker Volkswagen is exploring the feasibility of developing flying cars in China.

“Beyond autonomous driving the concept of vertical mobility could be a next step to take our mobility approach into the future, especially in the technically affine Chinese market,” the car manufacturer said in a statement. “Therefore we are investigating potential concepts and partners in a feasibility study to identify the possibility to industrialise this approach.”

In an interview with the company’s chairmain of the board of management Herbert Diess, Volkswagen chief executive of China Stephan Woellenstein said that the business wanted to create a licensed drone for the region.
