IT decision makers in the UK are more likely than other countries around the world to prioritise AI and machine learning , according to new research.
A study by Colt Technology Services, which surveyed 953 IT decision makers across Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Spain, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and the US, found that 40 per cent of UK respondents chose the technology as a top-three priority.
The report suggests that the US is the country most likely to focus on emerging technologies, with nearly half of American respondents citing this as a top priority.
The research also revealed that almost 6 in 10 Japanese IT decision makers prioritise network flexibility.
Improving security was the highest priority across all countries, being cited by 53 per cent of respondents, followed by network flexibility improvements listed by 44 per cent.
Enabling new collaboration and communication applications came in third, identified by 39 per cent of IT decision makers.
Overall, just over a third are prioritising the implementation of emerging technologies like the metaverse, while roughly the same number are looking at adding AI or machine learning capabilities.
