TradeKart announces deal with Uber Direct

TradeKart, the delivery app for tradespeople, has announced a strategic partnership with Uber Direct.

Uber Direct is a white label delivery solution that enables retailers to offer on-demand delivery from within their own website or app.

TradeKart, which has initially been rolled out in London, said the move would allow more of its customers to order materials that can be delivered to site within as little as an hour.

The company says that tradespeople across the UK can waste up to five hours each week collecting materials.

The new deal aims to help company speed up its growth in the UK and expand its rapid delivery service to plumbers, electricians, builders, and decorators.

“Following a successful 18 months in London, we’re now expanding across the UK and this exciting new partnership with Uber gives us the capacity to provide tradespeople with the materials they need, when they need them," said Alistair McAuley, founder and chief executive at TradeKart. "Time is our scarcest commodity and is far too valuable to be wasted sat in traffic collecting materials."

TradeKart is currently partnered with over 100 trade merchant outlets across London, where current average delivery time is 52 minutes.

The company’s partnership with Uber Direct will now enable TradeKart to expand its service, initially across London, Manchester, Liverpool and the North West region.

National and independent merchants already using the TradeKart service include City Plumbing, Huws Gray, Dulux Decorator Centres, MP Morans, Lawsons, PaintWell and London Decorators Merchants.
