TikTok Shop UK launches logistics service

TikTok Shop has announced the launch of a new logistics service for UK-based merchants.

‘Fufilled by TikTok’ (FBT) will provide picking, packing and shipping services for a fee, including same day, automated fulfilment for orders made by 7pm Monday to Saturday.

Merchants signing up to the service will hand over a volume of their stock, which is then stored at a warehouse.

TikTok explained that they don't have to store all of their SKUs at the warehouse, or use FBT for all of their products. Instead, they can select particular items which they would like to store and ship through.

After items are stored in the warehouse, when an order is placed, TikTok will pick, pack and label the merchandise.

The social media giant said that the move includes a new next working day premium delivery service.

It added that merchants will have access to better customer feedback and ratings through its instant messaging service and dedicated customer service team.

"As a small independent company, it's always great to find ways to help make things more efficient," said Ning Cheah, founder of skincare and make up brand The Beauty Crop. "Since using FBT, we've seen volumes increase by 30 per cent, shipping lead times drop by 36 per cent and late dispatch rates drop by over 45 per cent. It's made a huge difference."
