Office launches in-store stock app

British footwear chain Office has introduced a new app which enables employees to check the availability of shoes in store.

The company has teamed up with Red Ant to roll out the new technology, which store associates can use to look up or scan the barcode for a customer’s chosen shoes.

The platform shows details and size requested, allowing the employee to check availability in the stockroom.

If the shoes are out of stock, the store associate can check nearby stores for availability.

The move replaces the former process whereby customers had to wait to see if the shoes they had chosen from the display were available in store while the employee physically checked the storeroom.

“Our store associates are dedicated to delivering an amazing service to each of our customers,” said Jon Richens, managing director, Office. “This will give them the opportunity to offer an even better experience - unbroken, highly efficient and friction-free.”
