Meta launches VR subscription service

Meta has launched a new Virtual Reality (VR) subscription service.

The tech and social media giant said that the new service will cost $7.99 per month or $59.99 annually.

The move comes after the company saw its VR arm lose £3.1 billion for the first three months of 2023.

Meta Quest+ service will give users access to two “hand-picked” VR titles each month.

The company said that the subscription is the “most affordable” way to grow a library of VR games.

Earlier this month Meta-owner Mark Zuckerberg announced the company is launching a new virtual and mixed reality headset called Meta Quest 3.

According to the billionaire it features higher resolution and stronger performance than previous models.

The headset will be available to all countries where Meta Quest is currently supported in the Autumn for a price of $499.99.

The Meta Quest+ subscription is now available for all owners of Quest 2 and Quest Pro headsets, and the service is forward-compatible with Quest 3.
