Google announces ‘new watermark tool’ for AI generated images

Google has announced a set of new AI tools at a conference in the US.

At the San Francisco-based event, the tech giant made public new technology that both identifies images made with AI and provides a watermark for them, according to a report by Reuters.

It added that the company had unveiled an updated version of its AI chips and also announced new customers for its cloud technology, including General Motors and Estee Lauder.

Additionally, Google introduced a further 20 AI models to improve its enterprise cloud service.

Google Cloud’s chief executive Thomas Kurian told Reuters that its larger business customers should move at a different pace when it comes to AI.

"We've generally told enterprise customers, 'Go slowly and methodically because it's important that you treat this as a strategic software development,'" said Kurian. "There's been this sort of FOMO of, 'I need to be in generative AI for generative AI's sake.'"
