EE unveils ‘scam fighting’ subscription service

EE has launched a new subscription service aimed at protecting customers against scams and other online threats.

The new “scam fighting” service will be available to all EE pay monthly mobile customers as part of a subscription service from £1 a month.

‘Scam Guard’ uses spam and scam call labelling and dark web monitoring to help protect customer data, calls, and online activity, while the telecoms giant is also offering its customers access to free Cyber Security Duo for three months.

Helen Burrows, policy director for BT, which owns EE, said that its investment in Scam Guard will make a “significant contribution” to the prevention of scams and fraudsters.

“This is something we take seriously, and while we already block an impressive number of scams, there is always more that we can do,” continued Burrows. “Scam Guard covers all bases so customers can feel safer on our network.”
