3D software investment to boost digital fashion experience

CLO Virtual Fashion, the developer of 3D fashion technology, has announced an investment in PixelPool, a company that creates 3D software solutions for the apparel retail industry.

The company said that the move will enable both businesses to provide mutual clients a “seamless end-to-end” digital fashion experience, which will include the creation of virtual 3D samples and the interactive use of them in PixelPool’s SaaS solution – Dtail.

The money will be spent on the continued development of the solution, which already enables brands to plan, visualise, and sell their collections by linking product data to 3D virtual samples and sync them to virtual environments.

“PixelPool provides one of the best 3D fashion experiences through its various products such as virtual showrooms,” said Simon Kim, chief executive, CLO Virtual Fashion. “We are very excited to partner with them to help existing and new clients digitise their processes from end to end.

“Providing users with a seamless digitised experience is one of CLO’s objectives as a company, and the partnership opens up a world of possibilities in continuing to make that objective a reality.”

Founder and CEO of PixelPool, Maarten van Dooren, said that the move was a “strategic win” for the business.

“The fact that CLO has selected PixelPool as the creator of the most future-proof virtual showroom validates the tremendous work we have done to create a platform indicative of the future of fashion,” added the chief exec.
