Tesla reports record quarter amid supply chain disruption

Tesla produced over 305,000 vehicles and delivered more than 310,000 cars in the first quarter of the year.

The company reported a record quarter, despite facing “ongoing supply chain challenges” alongside factory shutdowns.

During the same period of last year, the company produced just 180,338 cars and delivered 184,800 vehicles.

“This was an exceptionally difficult quarter due to supply chain interruptions & China zero Covid policy,” said Tesla founder Elon Musk in a Tweet. “Outstanding work by Tesla team & key suppliers saved the day.”

The vast majority of vehicles made and delivered in the four-month period were the company’s Model 3 sedan and Model Y.
