Dyson has announced the launch of its new purifying headphones.
The Dyson Zone is its first “wearable purifier” which the company describes as a set of noise cancelling, high fidelity over-ear headphones which can simultaneously play music and release purified airflow to the nose and mouth.
Dyson claims the device captures city pollution, including gases, allergens, and particulate matter.
“Air pollution is a global problem – it affects us everywhere we go,” said Jake Dyson, chief engineer, Dyson. “In our homes, at school, at work and as we travel, whether on foot, on a bike or by public or private transport.
“The Dyson Zone purifies the air you breathe on the move. And unlike face masks, it delivers a plume of fresh air without touching your face, using high-performance filters and two miniaturised air pumps. After six years in development, we’re excited to deliver pure air and pure audio, anywhere."
The business said that the headphones are the result of more than a decade of air quality research and development.
