Deliveroo has announced a new on-demand delivery partnership with B&Q Local in the capital.
More than 600 DIY products will be available for delivery from a B&Q Local store in a minimum of 25 minutes.
The move aims to help B&Q target a new customer base and give consumers more choice about how and when they have items delivered.
Products available on the app will include interior and outdoor paint; decorating; painting tools; plumbing; electricals; bathroom essentials; tools; and hardware.
The partnership is launching across eight B&Q Local stores in London, including Camden, Harrow, Palmers Green, Streatham, Sutton, Tooting, Wandsworth, and Wood Green, as well as one store in Staines-Upon-Thames, Surrey, later this month.
“We’re constantly looking at how we can help make home improvement projects easier," said Amelie Gallichan-Todd, supply and logistics director B&Q. "This includes helping customers to get their home improvement products in the most efficient, and convenient way possible, by meeting increasing consumer demand for speed, convenience, and mobile access."
Deliveroo said that the partnership comes as customer searches on its app for DIY products like paint and screws have increased by 74 per cent and 35 per cent respectively over the past six months.
"There is a huge home improvement market in the UK and our data shows that customers want the convenience of being able to order everything from paint brushes and paint to tools for delivery in as little as 25 minutes," said Eric French, chief operating officer, Deliveroo.
The service is part of Deliveroo Shopping, a feature which launched on the delivery app last November to give customers the option to send gifts and other non-food items.
Deliveroo has recently expanded its Deliveroo Shopping offering, with High Street names Screwfix and Anne Summers joining the app.
The Perfume Shop also announced last week a new partnership with the delivery app.
