Video conferencing company Zoom has opened an office in London which it says will support hybrid working for its employees.
Earlier this week, Zoom reportedly said employees who live within a 50-mile radius must work in the office at least two days a week. The company stated that a “structured hybrid approach” is the most effective for its teams and customers.
Zoom said the office, which is situated in Holborn, is a collaborative space designed to build community and enable around 200 UK employees to share ideas.
The 15,000 square foot office is divided into different zones and contains around 75 work stations and meeting rooms.
In addition to the new office, Zoom said it will open an Executive Briefing Centre (EBC) in early 2024 to provide a demonstration space to educate employees and customers.
Commenting on the news Phil Perry, head of UK & Ireland at Zoom, said that organisations who adapt to new ways of flexible working will succeed commercially and attract the best talent.
“We are confident the state of the art design, underpinned by the full suite of Zoom technologies, will make it the perfect place for our teams to come together to do their best work on some days, while being optimised for hybrid and remote interactions leveraging the full power of the Zoom platform on other days,” Perry added. “Today’s announcement also underlines our commitment to and confidence in the UK - a key market for Zoom where we continue to see strong adoption across our entire unified communications platform encompassing virtual meetings, telephony, internal communications, online events and more."
