UK government launches ‘TechBridge’ with Ukraine

The UK and Ukraine have launched a new initiative to support Ukraine’s recovery following Russia’s invasion of the country.

The UK-Ukraine TechBridge scheme aims to encourage collaboration between the technology sectors in the two countries to increase trade, innovation and skills.

The UK government said a series of virtual “missions” will support investment and digital trade in sectors such as HealthTech and FinTech. Both countries will have access to each other’s markets for commercial opportunities.

The government added that a number of UK-based tech companies have collaborated on a set of free online training opportunities alongside in-person and online expert discussions for Ukrainian businesses looking to develop their skills.

“Ukraine’s tech sector has provided crucial support throughout the war and is key to the country’s resilience and future recovery,” said Nusrat Ghani, minister for industry and economic security. “By building partnerships between British and Ukrainian businesses and promoting innovation, we are demonstrating the power of trade, and are helping lay the foundations for Ukraine’s long-term recovery opening up future opportunities for businesses on both sides.”
