Twitter rolls out new accessibility features

Twitter has rolled out new accessibility features.

The new features will make alt text image descriptions more prominent for all users.

Tweets containing images with alt text will now have an "ALT" badge in the corner from today, allowing Twitter users to look at image descriptions without the use of screen readers.

The news comes after the social network first introduced image descriptions in 2016 and created a separate accessibility team in 2020.

In addition, Twitter confirmed earlier this week that it is working on an edit button.
