Founders Forum is set to relaunch Tech Nation following its acquisition of the shuttered entity in April.
The business development group is preparing for an autumn reboot of the body and will continue some of Tech Nation’s previous programmes, along with providing research insights on the UK’s tech industry.
A spokesperson said the new Tech Nation will be a third-party “voice of founders” and will be vying with Barclays Eagle Labs to provide startup and scaleup support.
It is understood that Tech Nation chief executive Gerard Grech will hold an advisory board role at the new incarnation of Tech Nation.
In January, Tech Nation, the UK government’s own body, narrowly lost out on a £13 million bid for a funding package to boost innovation for small and scaling tech businesses to Barclays Eagle Labs which cast doubts over its future.
Tech Nation was subsequently acquired by Founders Forum.
At the time, Grech said: “I am confident Founders Forum will continue the vital work of Tech Nation, leveraging its influential network to evolve Tech Nation’s existing programmes, foster entrepreneurship nationwide, and supercharge scaleups and high-growth businesses across the UK.”
