Co-op launches HealthTech app

The Co-operative has entered the HealthTech space with a new app that allows customers to repeat prescriptions in real time.

Co-op Health lets patients registered with a GP in England to order their medication and collect from any pharmacy in England.

Manchester-based app developer Apadmi was tasked with delivering the app’s front-end, working closely with the Co-op Health team to ensure a clear user journey.

Apadmi previously partnered with the group to develop its Co-op retail membership app, which was trialled last year.

While the first iteration of the health app is focused on repeat prescriptions, Apadmi is working to identify future self-care functionality for customers.

Tim Davies, managing director of Co-op Health, stated: "The pharmacy sector is at the start of a digital revolution and we’re excited for what’s to come, as people increasingly look for more flexibility and convenience in accessing their medication – the app is just the start for our health business."
