AWS hit with cloud outage

Amazon Web Services (AWS) was hit with an outage on Tuesday that impacted Netflix, Disney+, Robinhood, and Amazon’s e-commerce platform according to sources reported by Reuters.

The issue primarily affected AWS’ US-East-1 region hosted in northern Virginia.

Users began reporting the issue at 3.40pm GMT according to the sources and has now been resolved.

In June, a major outage involving American cloud computing company Fastly affected much of the internet, temporarily pushing high-profile websites like PayPal and Reddit offline.
