Vodafone has reportedly become the second British mobile business to bring back roaming charges for customers travelling in Europe.
According to the BBC, from January new and upgrading customers will be charged at least £1 a day to use their phones in EU countries.
This comes after EE announced it would be charging for roaming in June.
"Existing customers will not be impacted by these changes while they remain on their current price plan, and roaming in the Republic of Ireland will still be included for all customers," Vodafone told the news broadcaster.
Initially, all UK mobile phone operators had said they would not bring back charges following Brexit.
Vodafone’s approach is to limit those that include roaming in Europe to ‘selected plans,’ including its more expensive options, said the BBC.
The rules will change for new and upgrading customers from Wednesday but won’t apply till early next year.
