Uber partners with CarTrawler to expand rental offering

Uber is teaming up with car rental tech company CarTrawler to expand its car rental service around the world.

‘Uber Rent’ is already available in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and France.

The service will now be accessible to Uber app users in the US.

CarTrawler’s tech enables customers to rent a car directly in the Uber app.

“We’re excited to be teaming up with CarTrawler to help facilitate even broader access to rental vehicles when customers use Uber Rent to head out for that next getaway, errand, or adventure,” said Caleb Varner, global head of Uber Rent. “As we partner on this and future endeavours together, we're committed to creating a stellar rental vehicle experience defined by more options and less stress."

Aileen McCormack, chief commercial officer at CarTrawler said: “CarTrawler’s commitment to its customers is one that closely aligns with Uber. Crucially, this is a critical moment for the car rental market, as two of the most innovative travel-technology organisations come together to create a unique car rental proposition.”
