UK gov announces tech scale-up programme finalists

The UK government has announced the shortlisted finalists of its tech scale-up programme, the Tech Rocketship Awards.

The contest aims to identify the most innovative, fastest-growing tech businesses and drew entries from companies across Europe, Israel, and Turkey.

The shortlist is comprised of six companies focused on a range of different tech sectors.

The shortlist includes Neutroon (Spain), an open-API cloud platform that makes private LTE/5G and neutral host scalable for operators and end-users.

Jungle AI (the Netherlands) applies AI to increase the uptime and performance of electromechanical assets such as wind turbines, solar farms or industrial production lines.

Monolithos (Greece) manufactures direct-fit aftermarket automotive catalytic converters.

Through curated programmes connecting winners with the UK’s leading ecosystem of investors, incubators and High Potential Opportunity clusters, the awards will further help accelerate the finalists’ development, the government said.

The six finalists will go to the Web Summit, taking place in Lisbon from 1 to 4 November 2022, to pitch live to a judging panel to become the gold, silver and bronze winners.

Chris Barton, trade commissioner for Europe, commented: “There is no better place for ambitious tech companies to grow than the UK.”

He continued: “Our tech sector is the home of forward-thinking innovators, venture capital, R&D clusters and opportunities for growth across the whole of the UK.”
