UK IPO signs agreement with green technology platform

The UK Intellectual Property Office (UK IPO) has partnered with WIPO Green to accelerate innovation in green technology.

WIPO Green is an online platform run by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), which supports efforts to address climate change around the world.

The platform connects companies developing innovative solutions to solve the climate crisis with those looking to implement it.

The UK IPO will join the WIPO Green advisory board and collaborate with partners to support green innovators.

Commenting on the news Sarah Roberts-Favell, deputy director of international policy at the UK IPO, said that joining the platform signalled the UK’s commitment to supporting green innovation, adding that it is “crucial” that the UK IPO continues to work to develop and deploy new green technologies.

“In this spirit, the UK IPO is committed to bringing its expertise to the initiative, we cannot address the urgency of the climate crisis without co-ordinated global action,” she added. “This platform speaks directly to this goal as well as supporting growth and economic development.”
