Two UK Huawei directors ‘resign’ over inaction on Russia

Two board members from the UK branch of Huawei have reportedly resigned over the company’s alleged silence about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

According to a report by the BBC, the non-executive directors – Sir Andrew Cahn and Sir Ken Olisa – feel the tech business’ lack of condemnation of the war has made their role in the company “untenable”.

The news broadcaster said that Huawei UK had thanked both directors for their “invaluable guidance”.

The BBC asked Huawei if it would continue operating in Russia, to which the multinational responded: “We are not commenting any further."
