Saint-Gobain Rigips gets real-time shipment visibility

Gypsum and plaster product provider Saint-Gobain Rigips has adopted Sixfold's live shipments visibility platform to lets its sales teams and planners give customers real-time data on shipments.

The logistics visibility provider’s artificial intelligence-based platform will do away with calls to carriers, giving live data on the status of cargo, with predicted operational gains of up to 30 per cent from better planning resources for receiving inbound logistics.

Thomas Muschalla, project leader of Saint-Gobain Rigips' supply chain management team, commented: “By embracing Sixfold's real-time shipments visibility technology, we now have a formidable user interface for transport reporting and performance and can raise the bar in customer interactions.”

Saint-Gobain Rigips' is a joint customer of Sixfold and Transporeon, Europe's largest logistics network. Sixfold is the exclusive shipments visibility provider for the entire Transporeon network and facilitates shipment knowledge on more than 50,000 shipments daily. The network comprises more than 1,200 shippers in the manufacturing and retailing industries.

Integrated into Transporeon systems, Saint-Gobain Rigips' transport planners will now be able to share Sixfold's predictive estimated time of arrival platform with customers and provide them with a live shipment tracking link.
