OpenAI launches subscription service for ChatGPT

OpenAI, the company behind the popular AI chatbot ChatGPT, will trial a subscription service in the US.

OpenAI’s ChatGPT has made waves since launching in November 2022, with the company claiming that it is the world’s most-advanced chatbot.

The subscription plan, called ChatGPT Plus will cost $20 per month and will give subscribers benefits including faster response times and priority access to new features and improvements.

In a blog post, OpenAI said that it will continue to offer free access to ChatGPT. The company said that the subscription service will be able to help support free access to as many people as possible.

ChatGPT Plus will be offered to customers on OpenAI’s waitlist in the coming weeks, with the subscription rolled out to other countries shortly.

Open AI said it had launched ChatGPT to learn about the system’s strengths and gather feedback.

The company said: “We plan to refine and expand this offering based on your feedback and needs. We’ll also soon be launching the (ChatGPT API waitlist), and we are actively exploring options for lower-cost plans, business plans, and data packs for more availability.”

Microsoft recently confirmed plans to widen availability of tech from OpenAI and customers will soon be able to access the programme via the Microsoft Cloud.
