O2 has launched a range of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions designed to help businesses return to work in a COVID-secure way.
The telecom provider's business division is rolling out a suite of digital services to enable fast, secure and safe access into and around the workplace, such as thermal scanning and contactless visitor management.
The move comes as the result of a partnership with Bell Integration. It will offer O2’s business business customers options including a thermal imaging tablet with contactless visitor management, handheld thermal imaging scanners and social distancing room management displays.
O2 is deploying similar technology at its headquarters in Bath Road, Slough, as well as trialling the new technology at various small businesses, pubs, restaurants and offices.
Last month, O2 Business announced the rollout of a new suite of digital solutions including virtual queuing, staff scheduling and appointment booking technologies - which proved successful in allowing O2 to reopen its retail stores - to a range of O2 customers including retailers, supermarkets, stadia and healthcare businesses.
John Davenport, sales director at Bell Integration, said: “IoT can play a major role in maintaining social distancing and helping to prevent the spread of the virus.
"We believe O2’s extensive connectivity, combined with Bell Integration’s experience in deploying cutting-edge IoT solutions, will enable organisations to return to the workplace safely.”
