Hotel Chocolat launches new workforce management tech

British chocolate manufacturer Hotel Chocolat has implemented new technology to automate its staff scheduling process and manage fluctuations in seasonal demand.

The technology, developed by injixo, enables the company to automatically tailor working hours, breaks, and lunches based on employee skills and customer demand.

As part of the rollout, the business aims to improve staffing efficiency and reduce operational costs during quieter periods.

The tech also enables real-time schedule adherence monitoring, same-day task assignments, and provides 24/7 mobile access for agents to view their schedules and manage time off.

“Embracing a new workforce management software tool unlocks efficiency and accuracy for me in my resource planning role, improving manual processes into streamlined, data-driven operations," said Samantha Hernandez, resource planner, Hotel Chocolat. "This empowers us to focus on our consumers and other value-added tasks within the team."

Hotel Chocolat currently has 126 stores, as well as cafés, restaurants, outlets, and factory stores.

It has over 40 stores in Japan and a luxury eco-hotel on its working cacao farm in the Caribbean.
