GRIDSERVE opens second electric forecourt for EVs

GRIDSERVE has opened its latest electric forecourt in Norwich, hosting 36 electric vehicle chargers.

The Norwich, East Anglia site forms part of the company’s £1 billion UK-wide investment into charging infrastructure.

The power offering at Norwich includes 22 high-power chargers with up to 350kW of power.

These are the fastest chargers commercially available today, capable of adding up to 100 miles of range in only five minutes, says GRIDSERVE.

Those without electric cars can visit the site to find out more about them, through chats with “EV Gurus” located there.

Costa Coffee, M&S Food and WHSmith retail units are also available, along with Wi-Fi and bookable meeting pods.

“Norwich electric forecourt showcases a brand new design, where we have been able to provide both charging and a great customer experience in a smaller footprint than our first site at Braintree, Essex,” said Toddington Harper, chief executive of GRIDSERVE.

Another site is being constructed at Gatwick Airport, with others already having planning permission at Uckfield, Gateshead, Plymouth and Stevenage.
