Facebook daily users up after slowdown

The number of daily active users on Facebook is once again on a positive trajectory.

The social media platform saw the number of daily users increase by four per cent in the first quarter of the year, despite reportedly recording its slowest revenue growth in 10 years.

The company’s revenue was up by only seven per cent to $27.9 billion during the three months ended 31 March.

"We made progress this quarter across a number of key company priorities and we remain confident in the long-term opportunities and growth that our product roadmap will unlock," said Mark Zuckerberg, Meta founder and chief executive. "More people use our services today than ever before, and I'm proud of how our products are serving people around the world."

Last year the social media giant saw numbers grind to a halt for the first time in its 18-year history during the final months of 2021.

The company reported 1.93 billion daily active users in the final months of 2021 – the same figure published for the previous quarter.
