Etsy rolls out new digital tools to boost sellers' experience

Etsy is revamping its online platform with a series of new digital tools aimed at improving the overall experience for sellers, including photo uploading, categorisation, listing prioritisation, shop management and feedback.

Available on both Etsy.com and the Etsy seller app, the new features include a tool that improves the editing process for photo uploads and provides customised photo fillers.

The new tool allows users who need to upload photos or videos to the app to process them in the background so they can continue working on other tasks without interruption.

Users will also be able to create and save custom photo filters and apply their favourite edits to new photos to maintain the integrity of their sales page's overall look and feel.

Another feature allows users to quickly view all categories and subcategories of listings posted in the Etsy Seller app, which aims to help users accurately categorise their listings from their phone and improve buyers' search experience.

Additionally, new listing prioritisation systems in the search visibility dashboard show which listings would benefit most from an update, so sellers know where to focus their efforts to improve the quality of their service.

The retailer said it has also improved its shop manager, a central hub within the Etsy platform where sellers can manage various aspects of their online shops.

The improved all-in-one dashboard for tasks such as listing management, orders, inventory, payments, customer communication and sales data analysis will now make it easier for sellers to find key information such as statistics and orders and track data including how buyers interact with listings.

The online retailer said it is also testing a real-time feedback system on listing quality, which alerts sellers to any issues that could affect their ranking in search results before they publish their products.

The beta version is currently available to a select group of sellers for testing purposes.
