Cisco buys IMImobile for $730m

Cisco has announced that it is buying IMImobile, a UK-based cloud communications services company, for $730 million.

Cisco will use IMImobile’s cloud communications software and services to deliver a comprehensive customer experience as a service.

The technology conglomerate said that following competition of the purchase, it will be able to offer customer-facing businesses with an end-to-end customer interaction management solution, along with the ability to drive faster and smarter interactions and orchestration throughout the lifecycle journey of the customer.

Cisco's Webex contact centre solution combined with IMImobile's software and services will use AI along the entire customer journey to create super agents and augmented frontline employees, provide the customer data needed to personalise interactions, and connect with customers in their channel of choice i.e. text, social or voice
