Amazon announces new sales event for Prime customers

Amazon has announced a new sale for Prime customers in order to boost revenue and help shoppers navigate economic uncertainty.

The Prime Early Access Sale will start on 11 October and last for 48 hours. It will take place in 15 different countries including the UK, the Netherlands, Turkey and France.

As part of the new deals event, Amazon is introducing a top 100 list of some of the most popular items, gift guides and lists. The online retail giant claims this will make it easier for shoppers to discover new products and save on deals.

The new event joins existing events such as Prime day in June and Cyber Monday in November.

Commenting on the news Jamil Ghani, vice president of Amazon Prime said: “We are so excited to help Prime members kick off the holiday season with Amazon’s new Prime Early Access Sale—an exclusive opportunity for members to get deep discounts on top brands we know they are looking for this time of year.”

This follows the news that Amazon is launching 71 new renewable energy projects around the world after carbon emissions across its global business increased by 18 per cent.
