Virgin Money launches trial of first time buyer app

Virgin Money has launched a trial of a new app designed to help first time buyers navigate the home purchase process.

The challenger bank is launching the four-week Beta trial of the Home Buying Coach app in collaboration with data insights platform Life Moments.

The test will see thousands of customers invited to download the interactive tool and using features including an affordability tool over a range of buying timescales, timelines and savings goals for each user, and an in-app digital coach which starts conversations and prompts the user into action.

The full launch will follow the completion of the testing phase, which is open to Virgin Money’s Help to Buy ISA customers, as well its colleagues.

Simon Wallace, head of transformation at Virgin Money, said: “Home Buying Coach is a great example of how we can use our strategic partnerships to create innovative propositions that enhance the customer experience.

“This app reflects Virgin Money’s wider digital transformation strategy of helping customers maximise control over their finances," he continued, adding: "Using technology, we want people to be able to access and make decisions about their money whenever and from wherever.”
