Uber Eats signs deal with Co-op

Co-op is partnering with Uber Eats as part of the retailer’s plans to expand its on-demand online home delivery service.

Co-op customers will be able to order online home delivery via the Uber Eats app from about 1,000 Co-op food stores by the end of September.

"We are delighted to be partnering with Co-op, one of the most popular grocery retailers in the UK,” said Alex Troughton, head of commerce at Uber Eats UK. “Our mission is to be the platform of choice across the UK, and with this partnership, more customers will be able to order all their grocery needs at the touch of the button.

“So whether you are in need of some dinner inspiration or looking to do the weekly shop, Uber Eats and Co-op have got you covered.”

The move comes weeks after the company extended its delivery partnership with Deliveroo for a further three years.

As part of the extension, Deliveroo will operate its delivery service across a further 110 stores by the end of the year, bringing the total number to 1,400.
