UK second “most sceptical” about 5G

The UK has come second in a worldwide ranking of sceptical online searches about 5G.

According to research by Prolifics Testing, there are around 93,000 online searches a month by Brits concerning the possible negative implications of 5G.

155 countries from across six continents were individually assessed for sceptical online searches about 5G research.

The United States was ranked the most sceptical country in the world, with on average 344,700 online searches about 5G.

Australia came in third at 32,970, Canada fourth at 22,680, and in fifth place was Poland with 20,510 monthly searches.

Denmark was one of the least worried about 5G, with only 1,410 searches every month.

Earlier this month a government report revealed that the UK is dependent on just two companies for its 5G rollout, posing risks to both network resilience and security.

The committee said reliance on these companies was due to poor “strategic foresight”, and comes after years of telecommunication market consolidation, as well as the more recent exclusion of Huawei from the marketplace.
