Meta trials crypto wallet on WhatsApp

Meta’s crypto wallet Novi is to enable WhatsApp users to send and receive money via the platform.

“There's a new way to try the @Novi digital wallet,” tweeted head of Novi Stephane Kasriel on Wednesday. “Starting today, a limited number of people in the US will be able to send and receive money using Novi on @WhatsApp, making sending money to family and friends as easy as sending a message.”

According to a report by Reuters, Meta has been working on the wallet app for a number of months and has scaled back its plans to roll out its digital currency Diem globally because of regulation.

On Thursday Meta announced that it has built an AI system designed to tackle harmful content online.

The social media giant claims that its Few-Shot Learner (FSL) technology can adapt to take action on new or evolving types of harmful content within weeks instead of months.
