Superdrug has partnered with rapid delivery platform Just Eat, allowing customers to order and receive around 8,000 beauty, baby care and medical products in as little as 30 minutes.
The move comes as Superdrug is the most searched for High Street retailer on the platform.
Around 29 Superdrug stores including those in Marble Arch, Glasgow and Bristol, will take part in the scheme, which will start in selected postcodes and be rolled out nationwide by March next year.
The service will allow customers to order directly through the Just Eat app or website, select their local Superdrug store, and choose from products spanning 43 categories including Superdrug’s own brands.
Superdrug said that launching the partnership in time for the festive season will allow customers access products quickly and conveniently during the run up to Christmas, allowing last minute gift purchases.
Just Eat said that in the past year alone, it has sold over three million health and beauty products through the app, with the Superdrug partnership enabling it to bring even more choice in this category to its customers.
Superdrug said that the initiative forms part of its continued O+O (Online + Offline) strategy, which is designed to offer a connected shopping experience across all channels.
The retailer added that it will continue to invest in services that blend the ease of digital with the experience of the High Street, from Click & Collect and same-day delivery to in-store digital tools that help customers find products faster.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Just Eat, bringing our customers their favourite products straight to their door in thirty minutes or less,” said Simon Comins, chief operating officer at Superdrug. “It’s no surprise that Superdrug is the most-searched retailer on the platform, and this partnership perfectly supports our goal to make shopping with us as seamless and convenient as possible, wherever and however our customers choose to shop.”
