Gousto tells employees to work where they like

Tech unicorn Gousto, which delivers recipe boxes in the UK, has announced that it is allowing employees to choose where they work.

Employees will be able to choose where they prefer to work each day, whether it’s at home, in the office, or at a coffee shop. There will be no minimum requirement for the number of days teams are expected to be in the office.

The company said that working abroad would also be an option for up to 30 days per year.

Gousto is also introducing new core working hours of 10 to four pm, so employees have more time to make things like appointments and school runs.

The flexible working scheme will be launched on a trial basis.

“People and culture are the key to our success,” said Timo Boldt, founder and chief executive, Gousto. “Our culture is built on core values that inspire our teams to dream big and deliver with impact and care. This keeps our teams motivated and dedicated to the work, no matter where or when they are working.”

Boldt added: “We didn’t grow into the business we are by clockwatching and we’re not about to start now. With the right people and the right culture, no business should have to.”
