Forever 21 marks year in metaverse with new collection

Fashion retailer Forever 21 has launched a fashion collection inspired by the metaverse to mark a year on the gaming platform Roblox.

Last year, the fashion retailer set up a virtual shop on the platform called Forever 21 Shop City.

The online and in-store collection features hoodies and t-shirts designed using elements from Forever 21’s virtual offerings and includes the forever beanie, which is the top selling item in Forever 21 Shop City.

Forever 21 Shop City will also offer virtual accessories in Roblox, with one item released each day for just six hours.

Commenting on the news Winnie Park, chief executive at Forever 21, said: “Our initial goal with Forever 21 Shop City was to expand how we engage with our customers and make our products accessible to all.”

She added: “With the success of the virtual Forever Beanie in our Roblox store, we are thrilled to bring this beloved product and the entire F21 Metaverse Collection to life.”

Other retailers have launched digital communities on the metaverse, including sportswear manufacturer Nike.
