Deliveroo has announced that it will create 400 high-skilled technology roles to support its growth.
The move is part of the company’s wider plan to further develop its logistics technology.
The new hires will include software engineers, data scientists, and designers, who will work on a range of innovations.
The expanded team will work on a number of projects, such as improving Deliveroo’s on-demand grocery delivery offering, expanding its Signature service, and growing the company’s delivery-only Editions kitchens.
The company currently uses its ‘Frank’ algorithm to find the best way to connect riders, restaurants, and customers.
According to Deliveroo, Frank continuously improves its knowledge-learning capabilities, including how long it takes a restaurant to prepare a meal and the time it takes to travel a certain route at different times of the day.
The announcement comes after the company released a set of new tech features that enable restaurants to build a more tailored service for customers.
The new features allow restaurants to receive real-time feedback and reviews from customers - visible only to each restaurant - on their service.
Restaurants will now have access to direct restaurant-to-customer communication within the app allowing restaurants to respond to feedback, send vouchers, remedy order issues in real-time, and give personal touches to new or loyal customers.
