Deliveroo orders have doubled to 148 million in the first half of the year.
The company received 74.5 million orders during the same period of 2020.
The food delivery business reported revenue growth of 82 per cent to £922.5 million across the first six months of the year, compared to £507.4 million last year.
It said that growth was ahead of expectations despite restrictions easing.
Gross profit was up 75 per cent to £263.9 million, while pre-tax losses improved to £104.8 million compared to £128.4 million during the first half of 2020.
"We have reported strong performance in the first half of the year and continued to make good progress in executing our strategy. As a result, I believe that we are well positioned to take advantage of the huge opportunity ahead,” said Will Shu, founder and chief executive, Deliveroo. “We are seeing strong growth and engagement across our marketplace as lockdowns continue to ease.”
Shu added: “Demand has been high amongst consumers. We have widened our consumer base, seen people continuing to order frequently and we now work with more food merchants than any other platform in the UK. At the same time, more riders are choosing to continue to work with the company because they value the work we offer.”
