Amazon.it partners with Nexi to expand payment options

Amazon's Italian arm has partnered with Nexi, a European PayTech platform, to allow customers to make purchases using Bancomat Pay.

The agreement will enable customers shopping through Amazon,it t have more payment choices at checkout.

Intesa Sanpaolo also contributed to the project as a technology partner.

Commenting on the news Filippo Signoretti, merchant solutions director of Nexi Italy, said : “Our best-in-class technology and our specialist skills allow us to collaborate successfully with the most important international players in all the European countries in which we operate, providing them with the best services and the best digital payment solutions they need for growth.”

In April, Amazon announced it had launched an app which lets customers sign up for its palm recognition service using their phone instead of visiting a physical location.

Amazon One uses palm recognition to enable users to pay for services and identify themselves by hovering their palm over a compatible device. The e-commerce giant said that the app will speed up registration as first-time users of Amazon One will no longer require additional time to sign up at checkout.
