Zuckerberg warns on Russia

During the hearing related to data misuse, Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg has warned US senators of the technology war Russia is waging.

With an estimated 18 per cent year-on-year increase to over nine billion cyber attacks made in 2017 overall, according to the SonicWall Threat Report, the intensity of the cyber ‘arms race’ is accelerating, and Zuckerberg believes there is a constant battle with Russian operators seeking to exploit the social network.

"This is an arms race. They're going to keep getting better," Zuckerberg said. "There are people in Russia whose job it is to try to exploit our systems and other internet systems and other systems as well. We need to invest in getting better at this too."
