An open letter from Kaspersky Lab

Kaspersky Lab has filed an appeal in federal court challenging the US Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Binding Operational Directive 17-01, which requires federal agencies and departments to remove the company’s products from federal information and federal information systems.

In an open letter posted on its website the company stated that it believes the DHS failed to provide adequate due process. Furthermore Kaspersky Lab had hoped that its offer to share information with the DHS would allow the DHS to come to its own conclusions rather than take action based on ‘subjective’ public sources and before issuing and finalising the Directive. The letter then details the dialogue between the company and the DHS.
