Intel unveils new Pentium processors

Intel has released information on its new Pentium Silver and Celeron processors based on the Gemini Lake architecture.

To help differentiate processor performance levels Intel is introducing new brand levels: Pentium Gold and Pentium Silver. Pentium Gold processors – which are already in market based on the Kaby Lake architecture – represent the highest-performance, and Pentium Silver processors represent the cost-optimised option in the Intel Pentium processor family, based on Gemini Lake architecture.

The Pentium Silver is assessed to offer deliver 58 per cent faster productivity performance compared with a similar 4-year-old PC.

The similarly Gemini Lake-based Celeron processors are based are engineered for a balance of performance and connectivity for everyday use with extended battery life.
