Intel promises to fix its flaws

Intel used the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show in the US to pledge fixes for the Meltdown and Spectre bugs will be released over the next few days.

Intel CEO Brian Krzanich said 90 per cent of processors and products would be patched "within a week" and called for the industry to come together in attempting to create a more secure environment.

Although the immediate issue is the patching of the flaw, the discovery of the issue could push back the release of several new products – not only from intel but also from ARM and other affected manufacturers.
