NiceHash Bitcoin breach

Slovenia-based mining exchange NiceHash has reported that it is investigating a potential breach and is suspending operations until resolved.

The official release notes that the payment system was compromised and the contents of the NiceHash Bitcoin wallet have been stolen. It goes on to say “We are working to verify the precise number of BTC taken.”

The theft comes as the price of Bitcoin has surged, amid concerns of a bubble about to burst. The breach follows several recent attempts to attack or steal from such exchanges.
