US bans Kaspersky Lab

Legislation to ban Kaspersky Lab use inside government departments have been written into law, in the latest set of precautions against the Russian-based firm.

The ban follows a directive for civilian agencies to remove Kaspersky Lab software a few months ago, and Barclays decision to remove the form its products from its services.
The company has repeatedly denied any ties to the Putin regime, and has gone as far as offering to reveal its source code for inspection. However this has not quelled calls from US politicians for an outright ban.
