Google and Orange to jointly invest in tech startups

French telco Orange has formed a partnership with Google to invest in technology startups in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Orange said it has entered the partnership with Alphabet owned Google through Orange Digital Ventures, a fund it launched in 2015 to invest in early-stage companies across the EMEA region.

The two partners will jointly assess investment opportunities in fields including cybersecurity, Internet of Things, cloud computing and fintech.

No financial details were disclosed or the volume of the initial fund.
